REVIEW THE SAME THING
Discuss the document while everyone can see the relevant page
Share a screen or window through the browser’s supported capture controls, so a quote, design or specification can be discussed in the call.
Show the relevant window while the call continues
Shared content and the participant’s camera remain distinct media sources.

Replace a long description with a shared view
Explaining a layout or a line in a quote from memory can make a short consultation unnecessarily confusing. Screen sharing lets a participant show the material being discussed while the conversation continues. In Tsumira’s call experience, screen sharing is an explicit participant action. It helps people examine the same visible detail; it does not automatically create a shared document or transfer editing rights to the other person.
Choose what to show
Start sharing from the call control and use the capture choices the browser provides. Open the relevant quote, design, photograph or specification before sharing so the discussion has a clear subject. The available capture sources depend on the participant’s browser and device. A selected screen view can include whatever is visible in that source, so choose the narrowest useful view for the discussion.
- Explicit start-sharing control
- Browser-provided capture selection
- Relevant material prepared for the review
Keep the conversation alongside the material
The shared source becomes a separate call tile associated with the participant. Microphone and camera remain their own controls, so showing a document does not require treating the camera feed as the document. The call requests detailed screen content and audio where supported. Actual sound capture depends on the selected source and browser capabilities; it should not be presented as guaranteed system-audio sharing on every device.
- Shared content distinct from camera video
- Participant-associated screen tile
- Audio capture only where supported
Review the source before capture starts
Sharing a document view does not grant everyone access to the underlying record.
Stop before opening unrelated material
Stop sharing and record the result
Use the stop-sharing control when the review is finished or before moving to unrelated content. If capture cannot start, the call shows sharing feedback instead of treating the failed attempt as success. After the discussion, update the quote, task or project note through its normal workflow. Seeing a document during a call is not approval of a quote version, an electronic signature or a saved decision by itself.
- Explicit stop-sharing action
- Feedback if sharing cannot start
- Review results saved through their own business workflow
A concrete workflow
Prepare the right material
Open the exact document or view to be discussed and identify the relevant page or section.
Choose the capture source
Start sharing and select the source offered by the browser that best fits the review.
Discuss specific changes
Refer to visible details and distinguish agreed changes from questions that still need a decision.
Stop and document
End the share and record checked changes in the original quote, task or project context.
An illustrative working example
Example: reviewing a service quotation
A service provider opens the intended quote version and shares the relevant view with the customer. They discuss one optional service and clarify the assumptions behind the scope. After stopping the share, the provider prepares the revised quote through the quotation workflow. The visual review helps understanding, while versioning and customer acceptance remain explicit steps rather than being inferred from the call.
Questions about this topic
Does sharing a document give the customer edit rights?
No. A screen share transmits the selected visible content. File access and editing permissions remain separate.
Can I share sound with the screen?
The call requests supported audio capture, but availability depends on the browser and selected source. Do not assume every device shares all system sound.
Is a screen review the same as accepting the quote?
No. The quote’s review, version and acceptance process remain separate from viewing it during a meeting.
What happens if the browser refuses capture?
The sharing attempt provides failure feedback. Adjust the browser/device permissions or choose another supported way to present the material.

Google Drive
Workflow concept: Select the exact permitted document version to present during the review.
SharePoint Online (v2)
Workflow concept: Prepare relevant material without granting broader file permissions through the call.
Google Docs
Workflow concept: Review visible changes, then save the checked outcome through the document workflow.
