Drive: files and sharing

Give files a place in the work, with access you choose.

Organize folders, preview supported documents, connect customer records and share a specific file version without exposing the internal conversation.

A file needs its content, its people and its access boundary.

Drive brings private files, folders and related discussion into Tsumira. A proposal can stay near the customer it concerns, while the owner still decides who can see it. The product separates association from sharing: connecting a customer or employee explains context but does not automatically open the file to that person or the company.

Start privately and organize deliberately.

Files start private, including from other company administrators. Create folders, search by name and choose private, selected-person or company visibility. Folder access remains part of the decision, so moving a file is also an access question. Uploads are limited to 50 MiB and files become available only after processing and scanning.

Read the useful detail before the next conversation.

PDF opens as a page preview. DOCX shows text and tables, while XLSX offers a bounded table preview using saved formula values. These are read-only previews, not full Office rendering or editing. The original remains downloadable; older DOC and XLS files can be downloaded instead of receiving the newer formats' preview experience.

Share the reviewed version, keep discussion inside.

External links open one specific version without an account, expire after 1, 7 or 30 days and can be revoked. A new upload does not replace the previously shared version. Internal file and folder conversations require file access and are not exposed by that link. Losing file access also closes access to its conversation.

  2. Organize

Choose the folder, associations and appropriate internal access.

  3. Review

Use the supported preview or download the original for specialist inspection.

  4. Share

Share the reviewed version with an expiry and revoke it when no longer needed.

An illustrative working example

Illustrative scenario: a client proposal

A studio stores a proposal and budget in Drive, associates the customer and gives the review team access. Colleagues discuss the files internally. After review, the owner shares the chosen version for seven days. A later revision remains separate from that link. The client receives the considered file, while internal feedback and access choices remain with the team.

Questions about this topic

Does an administrator see every private file?

No. An administrator role does not automatically open private files. File and folder access still applies to previews, downloads and discussion.

Can clients open a link without an account?

Yes. External links are account-free and version-specific. Choose 1, 7 or 30 days, and revoke the link if it should stop working earlier.

Can we edit Office files in the preview?

No. The preview is read-only and bounded. Use the appropriate application for editing and download the original when full fidelity matters.

Does linking a customer share the file?

No. Associations explain who the file concerns. Access is a separate explicit choice and remains subject to folder permissions.
