TIME ENTRIES
Record completed work without rebuilding a running timer.
Enter the work date, duration and description, with optional authorized work context and a separate billing description.
Not every useful piece of work starts with a timer
A workshop, customer visit or short task may already be finished when you record it. Manual entries let the person document that work directly. Tsumira stores a work date and duration rather than requiring a reconstructed timer session. A useful description and the appropriate work reference explain the effort to the later reviewer, so the record is more than an unexplained quantity of minutes.
Capture the facts of completed work
The entry accepts a valid work date, duration in whole minutes, description, billing description and billable indicator. An optional work item can provide project, task and customer context through the authorized selection. Record the actual activity and check the date carefully, especially when entering work after the event. The current input permits between one minute and one day per entry; split distinct work into entries that remain understandable.
- Work date and whole-minute duration
- Work and billing descriptions
- Optional authorized work item
Keep internal context and billing wording distinct
The work description explains what the person did. The billing description provides a separate place for a concise commercial description where appropriate. A billable flag can identify effort for later financial handling, while internal or nonbillable work can still be recorded. None of those fields on its own determines the final customer charge. The entry still needs the appropriate weekly review, and connected finance handles pricing and documents separately.
- Separate internal and commercial description
- Billable and nonbillable work
- Review before financial use
Correct eligible records before submitting
Draft and rejected entries have supported correction paths using the current record version. Changes do not freely rewrite already submitted or approved work. An entry may also be voided in its eligible states when it should not count as recorded effort. After correcting the week, read an updated submission preview. This keeps the person’s correction separate from the reviewer’s later decision and helps preserve a dependable record of what was submitted.
- Version-aware corrections
- Draft and rejected editing states
- Void instead of an unexplained total change
A concrete workflow

Check the entry
Read the saved result and correct eligible fields if the original information was wrong.
Include it in review
Inspect the weekly preview before submitting the entry with the rest of the period.
An illustrative working example
Illustrative workflow: record a customer workshop
A consultant finishes a workshop away from the desk. Later they create a manual entry for the correct work date and duration, link the authorized project and describe the workshop outcome. Internal preparation is recorded separately as nonbillable work where appropriate. Before submitting the week, the consultant checks that both entries describe the activities accurately and that billing language is suitable for commercial review.
Questions about this topic
Do manual entries require a running timer?
No. They record completed work directly with a date and duration. Timer sessions are a separate way to create work entries.
Can I edit already approved work as an ordinary draft?
No. The supported correction path described here applies to eligible draft or rejected entries, with version checks. Approved work is not an unrestricted editable draft.
Can internal nonbillable work be recorded?
Yes. An entry has a billable indicator, allowing recorded effort and commercial billing treatment to be distinguished.
Does the billing description set the final price?
No. It describes the work for commercial use. Review, pricing and document issue belong to their own connected workflows.
