Presentation outlines: planned
A planned structure that starts with the audience's question.
In development: describe audience and goal, then shape a presentation narrative from relevant customer and project information.
Outline the argument
- 1Audience and goal
- 2The decision to explain
- 3Evidence and context
- 4Next step
Conceptual direction. A released presentation workflow is not yet available.
An outline should choose an argument, not reproduce the workspace.
The intended outline workflow helps a team decide what a proposal should explain before creating slides. It is part of the presentation experience in development, not a currently available slide generator. A meaningful structure depends on the audience, their decision and permitted source material. The team still evaluates what is relevant and what the underlying evidence actually supports.
State the audience and intended decision.
A proposal for a customer sponsor needs a different emphasis from an internal working review. Describe who will see the presentation and which question they should be able to answer. The intended workflow uses that brief to suggest a narrative rather than treating every available record as a required slide. Unclear objectives should be clarified before trusting a proposed structure.
- Audience, purpose and a concrete decision question
Choose business context deliberately.
The planned experience draws on relevant workspace knowledge. Access to information is not the same as permission to publish it, so customer details and internal assumptions need a deliberate selection. Keep confirmed needs distinct from inferred motivations. A persuasive sequence should not add unsupported problems, invented outcomes or confidential information to make the story appear more complete.

Review the narrative before developing slides.
Inspect whether the outline answers the actual question, identifies uncertainty and leads toward a suitable next discussion. Rearranging sections is not a substitute for checking the argument. No particular slide export or editor behavior is promised. Teams should evaluate the future outline feature when available and use current Docs for a reviewed written argument meanwhile.
- A reviewable argument before visual production
A concrete workflow
Confirm status
Check actual availability before planning a live workflow.
Define purpose
State who should understand or decide what.
Select evidence
Use only relevant, permitted and checked information.
Review structure
Check the story and unresolved assumptions before slide work.
An illustrative working example
Illustrative planned scenario: proposing a service change
A team would brief the future feature with a customer's decision about a service change. The proposed outline might organize need, approach and open questions. The owner would remove an unsupported assumption and keep internal commentary outside the client narrative. This is an illustration of intended use, not evidence that the outline generator is available. The same preparation can be drafted and reviewed in existing documents today.
Questions about this topic
Is the outline generator available now?
It is in development as part of the connected presentation workflow. Confirm actual release and supported behavior separately.
Will it automatically know the audience?
Do not assume an unstated purpose. The described direction starts with an explicit audience and goal supplied and reviewed by the team.
Can it use every customer detail in the story?
No. Reading permission does not automatically authorize external disclosure. Select the material appropriate to the specific audience.
Does an outline prove the argument is correct?
No. Check evidence, assumptions and the proposed conclusion independently. A persuasive order can still contain an unsupported claim.

Google Docs
Application concept: Review a Google Docs brief as source material for the planned story outline, without promising automatic slide creation.
Confluence
Application concept: Identify authoritative Confluence explanations for a future narrative while preserving source review.
Notion
Application concept: Turn a Notion workshop plan into a proposed audience and message brief for the in-development workflow.
